2026-10-09 16:08:30 -04:00 | 100 commits to main since this releasev1.2.0 - A Tidier Toolbar & a Better Task Editor
What's New in v1.2.0
This release focuses on the everyday UI: a cleaner top bar, a search that
narrows the board to what you're looking for, a task editor that's quicker to
read and use, and smoother licensing.🧭 A Cleaner Top Bar
- Notifications and conversations are now a single Inbox, so the corner stays
uncluttered - The live clock moved down to the week bar, next to the dates
- On smaller windows, less-used buttons tuck into the ⋮ menu automatically
🔎 Smarter Search
- As you type, the board dims the rows with no matching task, so results stand
out - Matches are highlighted in a clearer teal — the old yellow was hard to read
📝 A Friendlier Task Editor
- Opening a task fades in; the full editor slides in from the side
- See who a task is assigned to, right in the header
- Every property can be edited from the popover, not just date, tags, and
checklist - Repeat (recurrence) is now editable
- A comment count and the latest comment preview show in the popover — tap to
open the thread - The title is editable in both the popover and the full editor
- Delete asks for confirmation, and the full editor can duplicate
- Taller popovers no longer run off the bottom of the screen
⌨️ Escape Does More
- Esc closes the task popover, the full editor, the users panel, the Inbox, and
bulk-selection mode
🔑 Easier Licensing
- A site that isn't licensed yet now shows an "Awaiting license" state and picks
up its license automatically once it's issued — no token to paste on each
install
🐛 Fixes
- Status and Priority now show their labels instead of odd values
- Pressing Esc in a text field no longer crashes
- Removed the unused "Notes" field from new sites
🛠️ Technical Improvements
- The app bar is white-labelled: it shows the customer company name
- New About dialog with the app version, publisher, and a short description
- The desktop window is now titled "Task Tracker"
- Updated the developer guide and added more tests

2026-10-08 11:50:47 -04:00 | 126 commits to main since this releaseWhat's New in v1.1.0
This release adds licensing — each site can be given a time-limited licence that
controls updates and trials — and tidies up the sign-in screen.🔑 Licensing
- Each site can carry a signed, time-limited licence that controls whether it
receives updates - A licensed site keeps getting new versions; once its licence expires, updates
pause (the app keeps working as normal) - Licences are signed by the vendor and checked in the app, so they can't be
forged or edited - A supervisor can see the licence status and install one from the options menu
🎁 Free Trials
- A site can be given a 30-day trial; when it ends the app shows a friendly
"thanks for trying" screen - Trials are confirmed online, with a 7-day offline grace period
- Deleting the trial or winding the clock back doesn't unlock it
🔐 Simpler Sign-In
- The sign-in screen now shows just the app name and the login form
- Switching servers is a small settings icon, so it no longer clutters the form
🛠️ Technical Improvements
- New licence master server to issue, renew, and revoke licences for every site
from one place - Vendor tooling to issue, renew, revoke, and remove site licences
- Added tests for the licensing and sign-in flows

What's New in v1.0.7
A visual refresh: the app now has a proper icon on every platform, the toolbar
icons are no longer grey, and the interface responds with subtle animations.🎨 A Proper App Icon
- New logo across every platform — Linux, Windows, web, Android, macOS, and iOS
- Crisp multi-size Windows icon (taskbar, Explorer, Alt-Tab)
- The Linux download shows the icon and name in your launcher
🌈 Colourful Toolbar
- Toolbar icons now use the app's teal colour instead of grey, so they stand out
- "On" states (filter active, task open, unread) light up in amber
✨ Livelier Interface
- The presence dot gently pulses while someone is online
- The notifications and conversations bells pulse when something new arrives
- Badge counts roll instead of snapping
- Completing a checklist gives a small "pop"
- Toggles (filter, select) morph smoothly, and the recurring-task icon turns
🛠️ Technical Improvements
- Added tool/generate_icons.py to regenerate every platform icon from one source
- Documented the UI animation and icon-colour conventions

2026-09-25 15:01:47 -04:00 | 153 commits to main since this releasev1.0.6 - Reply, Date & Windows Fixes
What's New in v1.0.6
A small release fixing two rough edges in the Conversations panel and the date
picker, plus proper self-updates on Windows.💬 Conversations Replies
- Press Enter to send a reply, and Shift+Enter to add a new line
- The reply box grows up to a few lines as you type
📅 Date Picker
- Picking a date no longer switches on "Include time" by itself
- "Include end date" now stays on while you pick a start and end date
🪟 Windows Self-Update
- The Windows build now updates itself in place, like the Linux AppImage
- Updates replace the whole app (program + libraries), not just the executable
🛠️ Technical Improvements
- Added regression tests for the fixes and the Windows update script

2026-09-25 12:16:13 -04:00 | 159 commits to main since this releasev1.0.5 - Conversations & User Colors
What's New in v1.0.5
This release adds a Conversations panel so you can see every thread you're part
of in one place, and makes the Users panel easier to act on.💬 Conversations Panel
- A new chat icon in the top bar opens a panel with every comment thread you're part of
- Threads are grouped by task and sorted by the latest activity
- Reply to any thread right from the panel — no need to open the task first
- Search across task titles, comment text, and authors
- An unread badge flags threads with new activity, with a "Mark all read" action
👥 Users Panel
- The "Not scheduled" badge is now a button: hover it and it turns green, reading "Add to schedule"
- Every user gets their own color automatically, instead of everyone sharing one
- Colors stay consistent across sessions and are still changeable from the panel
🛠️ Technical Improvements
- New database migration (11) backs the Conversations panel — apply it to each Supabase instance
- Added a live integration test for the conversations query
- Added tests for the new user-panel behavior

2026-09-22 16:05:45 -04:00 | 164 commits to main since this releasev1.0.4 - Self-Service Profiles & Cross-Row Comments
What's New in v1.0.4
This release lets everyone manage their own profile and collaborate across the
whole schedule, and makes the Linux download run on more machines.✏️ Edit Your Own Name & Color
- Change your own display name and color from the Users panel — no supervisor needed
- Your changes appear on the schedule grid right away
💬 Comment On Any Task
- Open any card — including other people's rows — to read it and join the conversation
- Fields you don't own stay read-only, but comments are always available
- Delete your own comments (supervisors can still delete any)
🐧 Linux Runs On More Machines
- The Linux download now bundles GTK and is built against an older system library, so it starts on a fresh install of most distros instead of only the newest
- It now shows a proper app icon and name in your launcher
🛡️ Safer Roles
- Closed a gap that could have let a regular user promote themselves to supervisor
- Display-name changes now stay in sync everywhere they appear
🛠️ Technical Improvements
- Database migrations are now numbered (01–10) for an unambiguous setup order
- Removed leftover scratch files from the repository
- Added tests for self-service edits, comment permissions, and opening read-only cards

2026-09-21 11:48:37 -04:00 | 172 commits to main since this releasev1.0.3 - Multiple Supabase Databases
What's New in v1.0.3
This release lets you save and switch between multiple Supabase databases from
inside the app, so pointing at a new or existing backend no longer requires a
code change.🔌 Switch Databases In-App
- Save any number of Supabase connections (a name, the URL, and the publishable key)
- Switch between them at runtime — no rebuild or code edit needed
- Your active database is remembered across launches
🔐 Admin-Only Connection Manager
- The connection manager lives in the new options menu (⋮) in the top bar
- It is only shown to supervisor accounts
- The menu also shows which database you're currently connected to
🖥️ Your Server On The Sign-In Screen
- The login screen now shows the active server's name and URL
- A Change button lets you switch (or add) a database before signing in, so you can reach an account that lives on another backend
⚙️ Under The Hood
- Each database keeps its own signed-in session
- Safe switching: if a new server can't be reached, the app returns to the previous one instead of leaving you stuck
- Added tests for the connection store, controller, and manager dialog

v1.0.2 - Update & UI Fixes Stable
released this
2026-08-26 16:32:40 -04:00 | 174 commits to main since this releaseBug fixes for the update flow and schedule layout.
What's New in v1.0.2
🛠️ Update relaunch fix
- Fixed the old app instance staying open after an update
- The app now exits the current process after launching the new version, so
only the updated instance remains running
📐 Analyst label spacing
- Widened the analyst name column so longer names display fully instead of
being cut off
📦 Packaging
- The Linux AppImage is now named "Task Tracker" instead of the technical
underscore/hyphen name

v1.0.1 - Teal Theme Refresh Stable
released this
2026-08-26 16:11:01 -04:00 | 175 commits to main since this releaseA visual refresh with a new teal identity.
What's New in v1.0.1
🎨 New teal palette
- Replaced the indigo/violet identity with a modern teal/cyan palette
- Applied across both light and dark themes
- Updated the header gradient, accent colors, and tag chips to match
- Kept the warm amber "today" accent so the current day still stands out
🛠️ Self-update hardening
- The app now replaces itself atomically when updating from an AppImage
- Detects the real AppImage file (via the APPIMAGE env var) instead of the
read-only mount path, avoiding "text file busy" errors - Stages the new binary to a temp file and renames it into place, so a
failed download never leaves a partial executable
