  v1.8.1 - Windows Update Fix

  What's New in v1.8.1

  This patch fixes the Windows self-updater, which could loop or stop before
  finishing when the release zip had a top-level folder or the app was installed
  in a protected location.

  🪟 Windows

  • The updater now flattens a zip that contains a single top-level folder, so the
    new build actually replaces the old one
  • If the install folder needs administrator rights, Windows now shows the UAC
    prompt instead of failing silently
  • The update retries if a file is briefly locked, and logs failures to
    %TEMP%\tapestry_update.log
  • The app relaunches in its install folder

  🛠️ Technical Improvements

  • Update paths are passed to the helper as JSON, not interpolated into the script
  • Documented the Windows CMake cache reset after a rename
